Spaces for this workshop are now very limited. Have you always wanted to write a book? Have you written a book and need advice on what to do next? If you live in or near to Essex, U.K. we are holding a multi-author book signing event with a #freewriting workshop beforehand, by renowned local author, Virginia Heath. The workshop, ‘So you want to write a book…’ is free to attend. We only have 40 spaces available, so book your places now! As this is a free event, please only book a ticket if you will be able to attend on the day, so that we can give as many people as possible a chance to attend this amazing event. Virginia is a Harlequin author and her book events are very sought after, so we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to local writers.
When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Fortunately, her lovely publisher HarperCollins took pity on her and decided to publish her Regency romantic comedies, but despite penning sixteen books so far it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
There will also be a creative seminar held between 3.30-5.30 for creative people and businesses. These guests will be invited into a preview show to meet the authors if they would like to, at 5.30pm.
Southend Creative Network is pleased to invite all creative businesses, big or small, to this networking event at the Westcliff Hotel.
This year the Network will be working alongside the Multi-Author Signing #AuthorsAt…event, run by Lizzie Chantree – part of Essex 2020 celebration.
Alison Dewey from Southend-on-Sea Borough Council will be setting the scene by offering a brief talk then leading a discussion around the development of the Southend’s Cultural Ambitions. Southend Culture Vision will be co-produced with the people of Southend. The local cultural and creative sector are seen as a vital source of information and your involvement will help us to identify priorities and shape the future of cultural activity in Southend.
South East Creatives [SECCADS] project, funded partly by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), will also be there to introduce the grants (non repayable of up to £20,000), business support, mentoring and internship opportunities that are on offer to cultural, creative and digital businesses operating in Essex, Kent and East Sussex.
And finally Lizzie Chantree, author and creative business mentor will be talking about her #CreativeBizHour mentoring session on Twitter as well as her book group on Facebook. She will briefly introduce the Multi-Author Signing #AuthorsAt … event on the night and invite you to the preview session with the authors straight after the networking.
For those who are interested in creative writing and/or parties in general, why not check out the #AurthorsAt…event, also at Westcliff Hotel.
Free event but places are limited so advance booking is essential.
Refreshment will be provided on arrival for this talk.
